Some Cuteness!

Some cuteness for your Monday morning. Because Mondays were made for cuteness!

- The other night, I was helping Ana brush her hair. She was looking at herself in the mirror, so I knelt down beside her, put my face next to hers, and asked, "So, do you look like Mommy? Or do you look like Papi? I think you look like Papi." She gave me a confused look and said, "No, I look like Ana Faulk!" Just exactly like her, actually. (She also tells me on occasion that she lives in "Oak-uh-home-uh.")

- During a recent thunderstorm, Emma was in a panic because of the thunder. I told her that rain/thunderstorms are just God's way of making sure the animals have plenty of water. This made great sense to her, and every time it thundered, she'd throw her hands in the air and yell, "ANIMALS!" Ana was a bit more skeptical and kept asking "what animals?" I finally told her that Mr. Marvin's cows needed the water, which seemed to satisfy her curiosity. (Mr. Mah-ven is a member of our church.)

- Wes asked Ana how I was related to him one night over dinner. Ana replied with, "She's your wife... and your cousin." What?! (I can assure you that we are NOT cousins.)

- Emma loves BC. She's always loved BC, but after the running away incident and Reese's relocation, BC has become especially dear to our sweet Emmy. She'll sit on the couch at eye-level with BC and laugh uproariously as if a napping BC was telling the funniest joke ever. She and BC have even shared a few kisses, which is just too gross for words. Really. (It does, however, just further prove my point that toddlers and dogs aren't really all that different.)

- Ana has become very involved in the weekly children's sermons. This past Sunday, Wes was talking about the passage in Hebrews, where Paul compares spiritual immaturity with drinking milk alone. He (Wes, not Paul) had a baby bottle as a visual, and when he pretended that he was going to drink, Ana said, "That's for babies!" The point was made, of course, so Wes went on to discuss the passage... but Ana continued with, "Baby Emma used to drink that." She kept trying to interrupt with other clarifications, until she finally saw me putting my finger up to my lips in the universal "shush" sign. When she came back to our seat after hearing about how we should learn more about God so as to grow in our faith, she told me, "Emma eats pickles now." Indeed, she does. And this is what Ana learned from the children's sermon.

- Emmy enjoys being polite. So much so, in fact, that she's like the Polite Police. We took the girls to Burger King the other day (thanks to some great coupons we had for FREE food -- always a good thing!), and Em stood at the counter on tip-toe, screeching, "HI! HI! HI!" until the young lady taking our order acknowledged her. She is quick with please and thank you and says "I'm sorry" to Ana even if the fight/accident/mishap wasn't her fault. If I'm not quick enough with my own polite exchanges, she points at me until I say what the situation requires. (Which isn't very polite at all, now that i think about it!)

Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
